settling in.

I must say, so far living here at the Mark Centre has been awesome.
Having room mates, living in community, all that stuff that I was really nervous about has so far been a big blessing. This past Tuesday being the combination of my 19th birthday and my Great-Grandmother's passing definitely made the day unusual, but somehow being here away from the noise of home made getting through it remarkably easy. I mean, part of me was definitely wishing that I could be at home with them through it all and for the funeral tomorrow and whatnot but THIS is definitely where God wants me, no doubt about it. Plus everyone here was both really encouraging about the whole 'birthday' thing and really kind about great-grandma's passing.
Last night I had the privilege of hearing a presentation done and later talking with a man who has spent time in 'creative access' countries (creative access countries are countries where the church is persecuted and missionaries are not allowed in). It has just been awesome to see all the people I've met and hear their stories and how God is using them. So far, I am just loving it.
hopefully in the near future I'll get to post some pictures of Abby, once this rain lets up and I can take my camera outside!
