In a little less then two hours us Trekkers will be dead silent (for once). This afternoon we are heading in to a 48 hours stretch of silence to just "Be still, and know that he is God". To sit and listen to a God that desires to be in relationship with us. Talk to him, read his word. Get rid of the distractions of life by putting away computers, phones and ipods and even saying "no" to communication with each other. Just so that we can be completely focused on God. I mean, even Jesus went off by himself to talk to his Father, and if he needs that surely we do as well. I'm really excited for this, it's a bit daunting but really 48 hours where I get my pen, journal, Bible and the God who I love sounds like a phenomenal couple of days and really, I'm trying not to go into it with expectations of what God will or won't say. This is his time to do with what he will and I'm just excited for it.
Although, this IS me, and I don't think I've ever been silent for more then five hours in a row in my life. But I think God is big enough, powerful enough, and awesome enough to shut me up for a little while.
